Lisa McGeough is President, Chief Executive Officer and Head of Banking for HSBC US. In these roles, she has responsibility for all businesses in the US, including Corporate and Institutional Banking coverage. Lisa also serves as an Executive Director on the HSBC North America Holdings Inc. Board of Directors, as well as an Executive Director and Chair of the Board of Directors of HSBC Bank USA, N.A., and HSBC USA Inc. Her appointment took effect in January 2025.
Previously, Lisa served as Co-Head of Global Banking Coverage for HSBC Holdings plc, responsible for a multi-billion-dollar business across 60 markets, delivering tailored financial solutions to Corporate and Institutional clients worldwide through a comprehensive suite of services that included liquidity and cash management, trade services, lending and structured finance.
Lisa has over 35 years of institutional sales and marketing experience. She joined HSBC in June 2021 from Wells Fargo, where she served as Executive Vice President and Head of International. Over a 15-year career at Wells, Lisa was also Co-Head of Corporate & Investment Banking, Head of both the Financial Institutions and Industrials groups, and the London-based CEO of Wells Fargo Securities International Limited, responsible for leading investment banking and capital markets activities in EMEA.
Lisa joined Wells Fargo through a predecessor firm, Wachovia, in 2005. She spent eight years with Morgan Stanley, where she was a director in leveraged finance and the high-yield product manager for generalist sales. She also held roles at Toronto Dominion Securities and Salomon Brothers (now Citigroup).
Lisa has been recognized as one of Financial News’ Top Twenty Most Influential in Investment Banking and Most Influential Women in European Finance 2021–2024. Since 2015, Lisa has been a member of The Committee of 200, an organization for the world’s most successful women entrepreneurs and corporate innovators with a primary mission to foster, celebrate and advance women’s leadership.
Lisa earned her B.A. in economics magna cum laude from Bowdoin College, in Brunswick, Maine and participated in executive education programs at Harvard Business School.
