HSBC and Glamour Gals Host "Bold Kindness" Event, Empowering the Next Generation of Beauty Leaders

NEW YORK, NY – HSBC and Glamour Gals Foundation hosted more than 100 beauty industry experts and emerging talent for an integrated networking event to provide guidance and insight for those navigating the early stages of their careers.

The program, designed to provide mentorship and meaningful connections, featured conversations with trailblazers in the beauty industry representing brands like Westman Atelier, CAKESBody and Purple PR. Attendees were also guided through a facilitated networking program to broaden their professional contacts.

Eric Fisch, Retail & Apparel Sector Head at HSBC, and Glamour Gals board member, organized the event with the goal of highlighting HSBC’s decade-long support for the GlamourGals Foundation, Inc., an organization dedicated to combating elder loneliness by connecting teens and seniors through volunteerism, companionship and complimentary beauty makeovers.

“Looking out into this room, I see not just future business leaders, but future innovators who understand that success in beauty, or any field, isn’t just about the bottom line,” Fisch said. “It’s about empathy, authenticity, and creating real connections. That’s what ‘Bold Kindness’ means to me.”

Jason Henderson, Interim CEO of HSBC US, emphasized the significance of the ongoing collaboration between HSBC and Glamour Gals, noting that one of the first decisions he made in his new role was to select the organization for HSBC’s CEO Award Involve Grant winners.

“HSBC has been involved in the beauty and fashion industry for a long time, and I’m glad that we’re partners with you in today’s conversation on global kindness,” he stated.

A Focus on Authentic Leadership and Compassion

Kate Weizman, Chief Marketing Officer at Westman, discussed the relational aspect of career growth. “Mentorship is not about formality; it’s about these small moments you have with people one-on-one that can really change the trajectory of your career,” she noted, encouraging attendees to “pay it forward” and help build the next generation of compassionate leaders. Weizman also advised the audience to focus on their distinct strengths: “You need to be focused on what’s distinctly you versus what’s the noise in the industry.”

Finally, Kathleen Barnea Spink, Partner and EVP at Purple PR, offered an essential perspective on navigating a dynamic professional life. “It’s important to recognize that the career journey is rarely linear. Adaptability and embracing new opportunities are crucial to reaching your ultimate goals.”
